Cromdale March 2016

 Primary 7 Residential Trip 2016

Cromdale

Apologies everyone, but there seems to be a problem uploading pictures.  It may be due to very slow wifi.  We have so many lovely photos and we will put up more here hopefully when we return to school.

Friday – Day 5

Final last morning here at Cromdale.  Children are just all packing up and getting themselves ready for their final morning activities.  This morning they are all off for an unsupported walk.  Their route is all planned out for them and there are check points to reach on the way.  After that we are back for a quick lunch before heading home.  Our arrival time will depend on how long children take to complete their hike this morning.  We will update as we leave.

Here’s for a nice final last morning!

Thursday – Day 4

Today we have been out all day after an early start.  Children were up, had breakfast, packed their ruck sacks and were in the mini buses by 9:30 ready for a day of hill walking.  We had a short journey up into the Cairngorms before climbing an around 800m high mountain.  The walk took all day and we saw some amazing sights from green crystal clear lakes to snow capped mountains.  Children are all very proud of their perseverance and achievement.  The view from the top was spectacular.

Following this we went to play on the beach for a while at Loch Morlich.  Some were even brave enough to paddle in the water!

Children have now all had spaghetti for dinner followed by carrot cake.  They have begun to pack for home time, completed their tasks and had some free time to play.  The sun is still shining so some have enjoyed football and a play in the park.  Tonight we will have some reflective time and a finishing quiz.

Wednesday – Day Three

This evening we went to play games in the forest in the dark and build zip wires!  It was great fun trying to use our night vision.

Another busy day, although children don’t seem to be tiring too easily!  We have been off abseiling, fire building and mountain biking.  We are all just enjoying some down time waiting for dinner.  All are very hungry as they have been quite active!  Tonight we have a few decisions to make as to what we are doing depending on the weather and how tired we all are after dinner.  Some may enjoy some down time whilst others may take part in a treasure hunt or night time outdoor activity.

Heres some photos from today

Tuesday – Day Two

Everyone (including teachers) had a very surprisingly peaceful nights sleep.  All the excitement from day one must have left everyone ready for their beds!  This morning we have been busy with a group 1 gorge walking, group 2 enjoying wilderness skills and group 3 doing Tyrolean.  We have just had lunch and waiting to head out mountain biking whilst group 1 and 2 get geared up with wet suits to take the plunge into the cold river for an afternoon of gorge walking.  Tonight everyone will enjoy fajitas and swimming in Grantown.

Monday – Day One

We all arrived safe and sound in Cromdale by lunch time today.  All children were happy and singing their way through their journey.  Today children have been introduced to their responsibilities throughout the week and taken part in team building exercises in the forest this afternoon.  Children are currently busy doing their chores before we will head out for a night time walk.
