We made our very own ‘Planet Earth’. We put rocks, compost and seeds into half a 2 litre bottle. We then covered it with cling film to seal our experiment. The cling film acts as the atmosphere.
These are our cress seeds, we took very good care of them so they would grow! We watched a little clip to help our plants keep safe then we heard about a WOW word to help us remember how to keep our plants alive! The words are Water Oxygen Warmth.
This is our science project; we used a cotton pad, a straw, a cup of water and a egg holder to make our cress seeds comfortable.
We water them every day after break time! We used different weather conditions: we put them in different places, like the cupboard and the pod and the staff room! We are completing the experiment in partners.
Primary 2/3 were very lucky today! A visitor from TechFest Outreach came into school to teach us about ‘Money Maths’ and also which types of clothing are best to wear to be ‘Be Seen Be Safe’.
In Money Maths we were extending our knowledge of how money has developed from the ‘bartering’ days at the start of the human race. Right through to the development of money as we know it today.
In Be Seen Be Safe we were exploring the properties of material to find out the best ways to be a leading light, out and about. We spoke about how fluorescent material colours look really bright and this material works really well in dull or rainy weather or when daylight is fading. Reflective shapes on our clothes causes any light to ‘bounce’ off the reflective material when it is night time but there are cars with their lights on going around.

Our Halloween Challenge was to make a mask for Gail the cook.
Gail is a cook and she cooks delicious food – we had to think of what type of mask she would like to wear.
First we designed our own masks.
