Ponds and People

A country ranger came to visit us today to tell us about what lives in ponds and what we should do to look after them. We found out that some creatures can cope with the water being a little polluted but some don’t like any pollution at all so we should not drop litter or put anything dirty in ponds.

Toads, frogs, tadpoles…

We all looked at different pond creatures.

A baby dragonfly!

We said we could pick litter out of ponds or put posters up encouraging other to do the same so we got stars.

‘Look at my star!’

The Rain forest topic

Primary 3 found out different types of animals that live in the rain forest. They drew and painted them then finally cut them out to include in our topic display.

Sticking blue tac on.

‘The jaguar in pride of place.

‘The squirrel monkey should go here!’

‘This tree frog will be camouflaged here.’

The final display…

P3’s Rain forest display!

Learning to plant bulbs!

Last week we had a great time at Duthie Park learning how to plant bulbs. We planted around 2500 bulbs! It will be exciting to see them grow in the Spring time.

Primary 3 had a great start to the year with their assembly performance. They enjoyed listening to all the Julia Donaldson stories and had great fun performing the story of ‘Tiddler’!
